Keep the supporting parts in the assessment
Weatherstripping attaches to a retainer or the opening; it does not provide the door's lifting support. Describe cracked material, a detached edge or visible lower-section damage. Do not loosen bottom brackets to reach the seal because those attachments can be part of the tensioned system.
Preserve the door's product identity
If inspection leads beyond seals to changing a section or complete door, retain the original model records. Miami Shores' published door checklist distinguishes the opening location and product information. Confirm the current requirements for that larger project rather than using a seal order as a substitute for a replacement specification.
Define a reasonable rain objective
A floor gap may relate to the slab as well as the rubber. Ask which contact line the repair will improve and whether runoff still reaches the entrance. Sectional doors can admit driven water, so water-management work should be discussed separately from a new insert.
Your questions
Does new rubber increase the door's wind rating?
No. A weather seal does not establish the structural rating or approval of the complete assembly.
Must every edge seal be replaced together?
The condition of each edge should determine the recommendation. Request the affected locations and materials in the written scope.
