Record the sequence without changing settings
Note which control was used, whether the motor responded and when any flashing occurred. A short description from the last ordinary attempt is usually more useful than repeatedly cycling the door. Keep people and belongings outside the travel path.
Treat safety devices as part of the system
A closing fault may involve more than the photoelectric sensors. The assessment should consider the door’s movement, the control response and the equipment’s supported safety components. Do not tape sensors together, raise them or use a control workaround to conceal a continuing fault.
Explain related project work
Tell us if the operator was recently moved, rewired or paired with a new door. Such changes help define the inspection scope. If further electrical or building changes are proposed, clarify their responsibility and the City’s applicable requirements rather than treating them as routine settings adjustments.
Your questions
Are indicator codes the same across opener brands?
No. Use the specific model’s support documentation.
Does a sensor replacement always fix reversing?
No. The cause needs assessment before a component is selected.
