Compare the gap with the door's movement
An intact seal can leave daylight when the lower section is distorted or the door is uneven. If movement has also changed, stop use and mention that symptom. Replacing the insert should follow an understanding of its supporting retainer and the door position.
Keep water at the floor in perspective
A puddle inside does not identify the entry path. Note whether rain appears under the bottom edge, down a side or between sections when observing safely. Floor shape and runoff may require attention beyond seal service; a sectional door should not be described as waterproof.
Plan exterior changes deliberately
If the proposed repair includes different trim, repainting or alteration of the threshold, identify that work separately. El Portal publishes building and paint-permit resources. Check which requirements apply to the actual alteration rather than treating an interior seal replacement as permission for other exterior work.
Your questions
Does repainting the perimeter solve a missing seal?
No. The finish and the flexible contact material perform different jobs. Have the missing or damaged part identified.
Can the door be set to press harder on a low spot?
Do not adjust travel or force to hide an unexplained gap. The door, seal and floor should be evaluated together.
