Confirm the current submission process
Virginia Gardens’ published guidance includes replacement doors and directs applicants through the Village’s own process. Verify the current application route and project requirements before scheduling work. Do not treat online documents as proof that an application has been submitted or approved.
Measure the operating space
The available headroom, side space and distance into the garage can affect the selected hardware and opener. Include beams, storage and planned lighting changes in the discussion. A door that fits the front opening may still need a different operating arrangement inside.
Keep the final choices together
Record the construction, size, finish, glazing and applicable product documents. Ask what existing equipment will remain and how compatibility will be checked. At completion, retain the owner instructions and relevant records so later service can identify the actual installed system.
Your questions
Can a low-headroom option be selected without an interior assessment?
No. The complete door and operator space must be checked.
Does obtaining an application form mean the project is approved?
No. Submission, review and any required approvals remain separate steps.
